Juice Crew Film scheduled for production!

Posted by Ringo on December 17th, 2007

A film about one of Hip-Hop’s most storied collectives, The Juice Crew, is scheduled to begin production in January of 2008. The movie, entitled The Vapors, after Biz Markie’s 1988 hit of the same name, will be directed by Furqaan Clover.

Actress Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee, Madea’s Family Reunion) has been cast as Roxanne Shante, while Clifton Powell (Ray, Norbit) will play the part of DJ Mr. Magic. Clover’s previous credits include Queen of Media, a biopic of Hip-Hop radio personality Wendy Williams, which is currently in post-production.

In addition to helping launch the careers of artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shante, Biz Markie, Kool G. Rap and Masta Ace, the Juice Crew was known for MC Shan’s infamous feud with KRS-One. Juice Crew producer and former head of Cold Chillin’ Records Marley Marl is said to have a role in production along with Big Daddy Kane.

Knowledge is power, i feel so ashamed when i have INVALUABLE INFORMATION that i know the “production public” just should NOT be without. It is unethical for me not to help others expand the “mushy grey matter”……………….WHATEVER!!!!!!!! Just a nice Google trick that has served me well…So lets say you need….a bell sound wav for you production, and you just dont have one in your sound library…well..why not use Google?? To zero in on and given wav sound, try this….
In Googles search bar type in:

?intitle:index.of? wav bell

or replace “bell” with ANY sound you are looking for……..hope this helps

Yahoo Business: Musicians Uniting Against Media Oligarchies

Posted by urbanmusic on December 12th, 2006

It would seem that musicians are finally waking up to the fact that the whole music business & their whole lives are controlled by media oligarchs. Over the past decade we have seen the consolidation of the Recording Industry into just a few major labels, stifling creativity and drowning out innovation in favor of canned and packaged artists. It’s hard to imagine it has gotten this far before there was an uproar from those who really wield all the power, the content producers. More power to them. Don’t know how much it will help, but if will help artists at least realize that the old ways of doing business (making a demo , signing a deal) are things of the past then good. On to phase two. Let the Majors Crumble under their own wieght. Click for full report>>
